Arvada, Colorado Car Insurance

Depending on the exact statistics used, Arvada is either the sixth or seventh largest city in Colorado. Originally its own community, today Arvada is an integrated elements of the larger Denver metropolitan area and despite still having its own town center, today much of Arvada is laid out like a normal, decentralized suburban community. Arvada is perhaps best known as being the first place where gold was discovered in the Rocky Mountains in 1850, though there was never a major gold rush in or around Arvada. Instead, Arvada's excellent soil a rarity in Colorado led to the area becoming an agricultural center. Arvada was once known as the Celery Capital of the World, but this agricultural history is a thing of the past today.

Most residents of the city work in either Denver or Boulder and most residents have a twenty to forty minute commute to work each day. Despite being served by the metropolitan transit system (Regional Transportation District, RTD), the vast majority of Arvada residents either drive their own cars or carpool in order to commute. Although by state law all auto accidents involving an insurance claim have to be reported to police, Arvada has ceded much of its traffic authority, including accident reports, to the Colorado State Patrol, so locality specific statistics are hard to find today. However, as part of the greater Denver metropolitan area, people with an Arvada address will probably pay more for insurance than people living in other parts of the state.

The minimum insurance requirements for Colorado are $25,000 per person per accident, $50,000 for bodily injury per accident, and $15,000 for property damage. However, as Colorado operates under the tort system, virtually all financial responsibility falls on the person deemed responsible for causing the accident in the first place. Therefore these fairly low liability minimums probably will not cover all liability if you are to be at fault. It would be prudent to consider purchasing higher levels of auto insurance coverage if you feel there is any possibility of you causing an accident, because if you do so you will be held responsible.
