Allstate Insurance Company Discount Programs
Allstate auto insurance company offers several discounts to drivers who qualify. You can earn discounts simply by driving safely or properly maintaining your car.
Save Money by Driving Safely
Safe drivers can earn several types of discounts from Allstate. Drivers who do not have any accidents or traffic tickets over a three-year period qualify for discounts on their Allstate insurance premiums. If a driver has been without an accident or ticket for five years or more, he or she will receive an even deeper discount on their insurance rates. Allstate also offers a safe driving bonus that allows drivers to deduct 5% of their premium for every 6 months that they do not file a claim with the insurance company. The safe driving bonus is offered in addition to the regular rate reductions.
Safe Cars Earn Discounts
You can save money with Allstate if you drive a safe car, as well. Cars that are equipped with safety features such as driver and passenger airbags or anti-lock brakes will qualify for discounts because these technologies improve the overall safety of the occupants of the vehicle. Anything that reduces the potential for a serious injury during an accident will save the insurance company money in the end, which is why the company can reduce rates for drivers who take the initiative and install safety devices on their cars or trucks.
Students and Seniors
People who are under the age of 25 or over the age of 55 can receive special discounts through Allstate. Students who get excellent grades may qualify for rate reductions on their car insurance as long as their grades remain high. Students who attend school more than 100 miles away from the place where their car is kept can also receive discounts. Seniors who are 55 or older and have retired are eligible for discounts on their car insurance because they tend to drive fewer miles after retirement. Seniors can also receive a reduction in their personal injury coverage if they are 65 or older and drive more than a quarter of their car's mileage.
Lowering Your Deductible over Time
Allstate offers a unique program that helps drivers reduce the amount of money they would have to pay for their car insurance deductibles. Drivers receive $100 off their deductible when they sign up with Allstate, then their deductible is reduced by $100 for every year that the driver goes without an accident. The maximum reduction is $500 after four accident-free years. Deductible discounts are applied in addition to the normal safe driver discounts that apply toward the annual premiums that you would pay.
Accident Forgiveness Discounts
When you sign up for Allstate auto insurance, you will receive the opportunity to have your first accident forgiven entirely by the insurance company. In most cases, your premium would go up if you were involved in an accident, especially if the accident was deemed your fault. Allstate is willing to let you have one accident without any rate increases no matter who is at fault for the collision. This discount only applies to the first accident for which you would need to file a claim. Subsequent accidents will be charged appropriately depending on the circumstances of the accident and claims that have been filed.
Replacements for New Cars
A unique discount from Allstate is their new car replacement plan. If you drive a car that is less than 3 years old and it is totaled in an accident, Allstate will reimburse you for the original value of the car instead of the depreciated value. This discount allows you to purchase a new car of the exact same value instead of having to pay the difference between your car's value and the cost of the new car that you want. The new car replacement plan allows you to start over with a new car instead of forcing you to buy a less expensive model.
Educated Drivers Earn Discounts
If you attend a sanctioned defensive driving course while you are insured with Allstate, you could receive a discount on your car insurance premiums. All you need to do is pass the class to receive a discount on your standard insurance rates. There are driving courses offered by several public schools and government agencies for nominal fees. The money you save on your insurance rates will easily offset the money you spend on a driving course. Defensive driving classes are good ways to brush up on safer driving strategies that reduce the risk of being involved in an accident.
